    T-Shirts for the 2022 Maricopa County Sheriff Office (MCSO) Memorial Ceremony are available for preorder now.  These Unisex Shirts will be available for pickup at the MCSO Memorial Ceremony in front of MCSO headquarters on Friday, May 6th at 8am.  If you are not able to pickup your T Shirt at the Memorial Ceremony, please coordinate with MCSO Sgt. Isidro Caro ([email protected]).
    Note that shirts cannot be mailed or shipped, and must be picked up at an MCSO facility.

  • Commander Greg Carnicle Donation

    Commander Greg Carnicle EOW 3/29/2020 Phoenix Police Department Phoenix Police Commander Greg Carnicle was shot and killed while responding to a domestic disturbance call at an apartment complex in North Phoenix.  Commander Carnicle and two other officers were speaking to one of the occupants inside of the home when a man suddenly drew a weapon and opened fire, wounding all three officers. Commander Carnicle was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.  The other two officers suffered non-life threatening wounds.  The subject was shot and killed by tactical units as they attempted to take him into custody.  Commander Carnicle was a 31-year veteran of the Phoenix Police Department,  and was scheduled to retire in two months. He is survived by his wife and four children.
  • Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Deputy Juan "Johnny" Ruiz EOW 10/11/2021 MCSO Deputy Juan "Johnny" Ruiz died due to injuries sustained after being attacked by a suspect in custody as deputy Ruiz was placing the suspect into a jail cell. The suspect brutally attacked deputy Ruiz and fled the scene, leaving Deputy Ruiz unconscious. Deputy Ruiz was put on life support but was not able to recover from his injuries. Deputy Ruiz was highly respected by his coworkers, friends, and family.
  • Detention Officer Justin Folsome EOW 11/24/2020 Maricopa County Sheriff's Office MCSO Detention Officer Justin Folsome was involved in a traffic accident on State Route 85 near Buckeye, as his vehicle was struck from behind by a semi-truck. Officer Folsome was stopped at a red light, and the truck driver did not see the red light or the vehicles stopped at the intersection. The semi-truck was estimated to be traveling at 55 MPH when it impacted the rear of Officer Folsome's vehicle and officer Folsome died as a result of his injuries. Officer Folsome was an 8-year veteran of MCSO, and served in the agency's intake, transfer, and release facility.

  • Lieutenant Chad Brackman Donation

    Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Lieutenant Chad Brackman EOW 11/10/2021 MCSO Lt Chad Brackman was working to control traffic at a construction scene in Scottsdale when he was accidently hit by a moving vehicle. Lt Brackman was transported to a local officer where he succomed to his injuries sustained by the accident. He was a 22 year veteran with MCSO, serving with the Lake Patrol division. Lt Brackman leaves behind his wife, two children, and two stepchildren.

  • Officer Ginarro New Donation

    Phoenix Police Department Officer Ginarro New EOW 5/31/2021 Phoenix Police Officer Ginarro New was driving his patrol vehicle when he was hit by a drunk driver who ran a red light. The accident happened after Officer New entered the intersection of Greenway Parkway and Cave Creek Road in North Phoenix. The impact sent Officer New's patrol SUV through a brick wall and it came to rest on its side in a parking lot. Officer New died from his injuries sustained in the accident. The driver of the vehicle that ran the red light also died in the accident, and was found to be intoxicated with a blood alcohol level of 0.233. Officer New joined to Phoenix Police Department in 2019, and made a lasting impression on his coworkers in a short period of time. He is survived by his wife, mother, brother, and grandmother.

    Officer Jason Judd EOW 7/1/2020 Peoria Police Department Peoria Police Officer, Jason Judd, died in a motorcycle crash at Liberty High School in Peoria, AZ. Officer Judd was at the high school to give a motor demonstration for the Youth Citizen Police Academy Camp when he was involved in the crash on school property. Officer Judd was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Officer Judd was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was a 21-year veteran of the Peoria Police Department.
